Enter the world in 'campaign' and start from a cab all the way to giant tanks, resource gathering behemoths, massive bases for scrapping, refinng, and building parts, and lethal turrets to defend you every step.

Except you can't. As in the game doesn't allow you to. The premise of crafting your way through the game is false. An overwhelming limitation to the amount of blocks you can put down is downright pathetic. After you create a build to protect yourself and gather resources you have no wiggle room to create a base let alone defense turrets.

Your part limit is increased to a marginally higher amount at the end of the 'campaign'. By then you don't need to craft parts because you get your own payload terminal where you can purchase anything with the millions you should have by then.
